This study was motivated by the results of initial observations which showed that learning was still carried out conventionally and centered on the teacher, resulting in low student engagement and learning outcomes. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires and interviews involving students, class teachers, and principals. Data validity was obtained through source triangulation to obtain comprehensive and credible results. The results showed that teachers had implemented various strategies, such as managing learning time, sequencing learning activities, selecting media, and implementing student-based learning methods such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Project-Based Learning (PJBL). This strategy supports the development of critical thinking indicators such as interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference. Although there are still some obstacles in its implementation, the results of the interview showed an increase in students' critical thinking skills. In conclusion, the implementation of PBL and PJBL with the right strategy can improve students' critical thinking skills, especially with collaborative support between teachers and schools.
Fenita Mei Wulandari Vinardita Meganesia Adella Dewi Oktavia Melda Dwi Agustina Melina Pebrian Jihan Zahra Tsania Andarini Permata Cahyaningtyas Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-06-17 2025-06-17 4 1 27 37 10.55047/jrpp.v4i1.949 Application of Talking Stick Co-operative Model to Improve Students' Mathematics Learning Activity and Result in Primary School https://transpublika.co.id/ojs/index.php/JRPP/article/view/946
The objective of this research is to increase the engagement and academic achievement of fourth-grade students at SDN 2 Benda Karangampel, Indramayu in mathematics by implementing the Talking Stick cooperative learning approach. After consulting with teachers, it was identified that the inadequate utilization of educational resources and the limited diversity in teaching techniques are contributing factors to the students' poor performance. Consequently, this has resulted in a lack of student participation during lessons, as evidenced by only 9% of students achieving a score above the passing mark (65) in the Mid-Semester Assessment (PTS). This research project involves Classroom Action Research (PTK), conducted over three phases: planning, execution, observation, and reflection. The findings indicate that the introduction of the Talking Stick method enhanced the efficiency of the learning process. Evaluations of the teaching process improved from 71% (good category) in the first cycle to 86% (very good category) in the third cycle. Student engagement levels also rose from 61% (active category) in the initial cycle to 83% (very active category) in the final cycle. Moreover, student achievements increased from 54% (19 pupils) in the beginning to 86% (30 pupils) by the end, surpassing the 80% threshold for success. Consequently, the application of the Talking Stick cooperative learning model has been shown to be effective in boosting student participation and results in mathematics education. This innovative approach could offer a unique and enjoyable educational experience for students.
Iim Fatimah Dadang Suhada Khoimatun Khoimatun Copyright (c) 2025 Iim Fatimah, Dadang Suhada, Khoimatun Khoimatun https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-06-23 2025-06-23 4 1 38 46 10.55047/jrpp.v4i1.946 The Role of Social Media in The Formation of Young People's Civic Identity: A Study on University Students in The Reform Era https://transpublika.co.id/ojs/index.php/JRPP/article/view/957
This study aims to explore the role of social media in the construction of citizenship identity among students of the Social Studies Study Programme in the reform era. The transformation of information technology, especially the emergence and rapid development of social media, has influenced the way young people voice their identity and understand their position and responsibilities as citizens. This study was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach, focusing on Tadris Social Studies students at the Cyber State Islamic University Sheikh Nurjati Cirebon. The selection of informants was done purposively, namely those who actively use social media and show concern for social, political and civic issues. Data were collected through in-depth interview techniques and digital observation of students' behaviour and activities on social media platforms. The findings of this study indicate that social media does not solely function as a medium for entertainment and social interaction, but also as a space for learning and reflection that encourages the growth of critical attitudes and awareness of civic values. However, the existence of false information (hoaxes), hate speech and negative content still pose serious challenges that can hinder the process of citizenship identity formation. In this context, strengthening digital literacy is a strategic element that must be considered so that students are able to utilise the media.
Bambang Yuniarto Najmi Khalifatan Adelisah Adelisah Rafiqan Qolbi Copyright (c) 2025 Bambang Yuniarto, Najmi Khalifatan, Adelisah Adelisah, Rafiqan Qolbi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-06-23 2025-06-23 4 1 47 61 10.55047/jrpp.v4i1.957 Improving Listening Skills Through Storytelling Methods with Digital Storybooks in Early Childhood https://transpublika.co.id/ojs/index.php/JRPP/article/view/978
This study aims to enhance the listening comprehension skills of 5-6-year-old children at TK Mutiara Hati Ngantang through the storytelling method using digital storybooks.
